Electronic Catch and Effort Reporting System
ECERS is an Electronic Catch and Effort Reporting System used by the vessel's skipper to comply with regulatory requirements and assist owners and skippers to plan fishing operations. Catch data is entered on easy to use forms that perform the function of a logbook, with the ability to generate graphical plots and catch and effort reports in either electronic or paper form.
Different
data entry forms are available for different operations and reports
(even stores inventory). The appearance of the forms and reports is
consistent: for example the data form used by the vessel's skipper is
the same as the report form used to represent the data on the land-based
computers, irrespective of the type of data.
The ECERS Client system is an Electronic Catch and Effort Reporting System for use by individual operators, to comply with regulatory requirements and to help plan fishing operations. Catch data is entered on easy to use forms that perform the function of a logbook, with the ability to generate graphical plots and catch and effort reports in electronic or paper form.

data-entry form used by the operator for line fishing is the same as
the report form used to present the data.
A complete monitoring package for the professional fishing
vessel owner ECERS Combo Pack combines the features of three products
to give you comprehensive information of your vessel's performance in
one easy to use package.
The components of the system are:
- ECERS Server- the same Electronic
Catch and Effort Reporting System that provides position and catch
information to Fisheries Authorities can also be installed on your
computer. In addition to storing and analysing catch data, you can
also use the system to send electronic reports to the Fisheries Authority
from your home or office. The catch data is automatically processed
and stored in a database from e-mailed reports, which can be consolidated
for your entire fleet. The stored data can also be used by other reporting
systems.
- WebVision - allows you to track
your vessel(s) in real-time across the Internet from any computer.
The information for your vessel(s) is sent over the Internet in an
encrypted form and is accessed via an authorised username and password.
- OceanVision - displays position, track and ECERS data on high-resolution electronic charts available from hydrographic offices. In addition to providing a graphical display with your tracks and catch, all of the features of OceanVision are available to allow you to monitor or plan voyages from your home or office.
